Steven Darby is the Creative Director for Heavy Heavy. His name is Steven, but everyone calls him “Darby.” He generally has no interest in drop shadows, bevels or glows and enjoys sincerity. About Heavy Heavy
Our studio was born out of a need to make things better, in a better way. Having worked at creative agencies in the past, we knew the agency format was broken. Taking on large amounts of work, up selling unnecessary services, and creating a client/agency relationship based on budgets, as opposed to creating the right solutions, is not productive.
So, we opened our very own creative space where web, identity and content work together. We stand for transparency and adaptability, and we will never overcharge, oversell, or over design. It’s a Heavy Heavy thing.

For a great idea to turn into a successful startup, it needs a sustainable business model. And here's where the Lean Canvas comes in.
Lean Canvas is used to help early stage startups answer the tough questions that come up when defining your business model, like who is your target audience? Or what are the revenue streams for your business?
In this one hour interactive session, you'll be introduced to the Lean Canvas by Cole Wollak and Luis Martinez. You'll leave with knowledge of how to build an actionable and entrepreneur-focused business plan.
Bill Gonzalez, Webhead CIO and Technical Director will speak on utilizing a variety of developmental tools like Visual Studio, Octopus, GitHub, Lync, Hangfire, and Postman to build and develop web applications, in addition to other tools such as Software Planner and SoapUI. He will demonstrate a developmental cycle from code change to deployment utilizing common tools. This demo provides a quick example of our software development life cycle iteration.
We’re helping to build our community one cup at a time. Every week two local entrepreneurs present their business ideas to an audience of fellow entrepreneurs, advisors and mentors via a 6-minute, live presentation with audience feedback and questions.
Presenters gain invaluable, supportive insight to help foster their business, and have the opportunity to network with members of the San Antonio entrepreneurial community. Audience participants hear about exciting business concepts and engage with presenters in a casual, responsive environment.
Join us every Wednesday for 1 Million Cups at our beautiful Cafe Commerce space located inside the San Antonio Public Library at 600 Soledad St. Let us know you’re coming, or request to present here.
If you have any questions, email info@cafecommercesa.org.

Ann Bohl Deacon, CEO of Deacon Recruiting will be discussing the importance of developing company culture, consistent branding and how your company can stand out from the rest to attract Top Talent!
This one of a kind, interactive two hour class gives you all the tools you need to start taking better care of your health.
Our curriculum pulls from both ancient and modern wisdom to give you a new understanding of the role food plays in our lives as individuals. What may be great for one person, may be detrimental to another. Health will never be a one-size-fits-all. We want to demystify the steps you need to take to getting the best results for your body type.
Your body is unique and where there are no instructions included, there is Pharm Table. We guide you through discovering your personal body type, how that affects your life, and how to take control. Our system is steeped in the Ancient knowledge known as Ayurveda ("eye-yer-vay-duh"), which was information collected over hundreds of years by Indian Monks who accounted for Mind, Body, and Spiritual elements that make up an individual. While we touch on all these things, we bring the focus into what we put in our bodies.
This panel is not about us talking to each other while you fall asleep. We will call you out if you fall asleep, although that’s not likely. You should expect a very interactive session around topics including but not limited to getting pre-seed funding and what to do with that funding, when’s the right time for the next round (it’s not when you’re out of money), good and bad pitch decks, really useful tools and hacks. Although we plan to cover the above topics during the first hour to hour and a half we will leave the remaining time for pandemonium, if no questions or topics come up then we’ll go to happy hour!
We are a monthly meetup that is hosted at Geekdom which showcases new technology being developed here in SA Antonio. We give local businesses and inventors a platform to showcase their technology to the San Antonio community. If you are interested in presenting please send us a message.

Startup Week is a five day celebration of your community. Join your community in a new type of conference that builds momentum and opportunity around entrepreneurship, led by entrepreneurs and hosted in the entrepreneurial spaces you love. Startup Week is a reflection of your hard work and your community's unique entrepreneurial identity.
At the Dojo, we are going to celebrate this week by allowing our members to pitch an idea, business, project, or technology they want to share with the community! If you were thinking about inviting an entrepreneur friend to the Dojo, this is the time you do so.
The pitches need to be at most 5 minutes and can include a PowerPoint. However, it's up to you how you want to do your presentation.
Not all the pitches need to be about crazy cool business ideas, but they do have to be about something related to cyber security, which is a broad field in of itself.
Do you just have an idea you want to get some feedback on? Come on down to the Dojo, share your pitch, and listen to what the community has to say.
We are looking forward to hearing all the great pitches!
